A lot different than the movie. One of the really great things about some movies and TV shows is that they whet one's appetite so much for the subject matter that, hopefully, that person won't be too lazy and will follow-up and read the book that the show or movie was based on. Blow is exactly just that kind of situation. The movie was cool and entertaining, but the book told the whole story and is much better and far more interesting. Plus, its nice to see what those big whig Hollywood types leave out of a true story like this. Sometimes I really wish that movies would tell the whole story of something, especially when they add their own little wrinkles that never actually happened while leaving out some of the elements of the true story. The book is a breeze to read and really keeps one turning the pages. At the time I read it, I was in a bookstore and sat reading it for so long that my keister feel asleep and I had to walk around with it in the store to keep my back from getting too sore.
Blow Book is in good condition, shipping was a little slow but overall a very painless process. Very Satisfied.
blow Blow is a classic smuggling tale and one of the first of this genre that I ever read. The book offers more insight than the movie. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a fast easy read.
Much better then the movie Ive seen the movie and read the book about this story, and the book is much better. The movie isn't that bad and is played well by Johnny Depp, however, the book just goes into greater detail of which the movie doesn't and leaves some important things out. It is a good book and I highly recommend it. Other great works on cocaine cartels are Mark Bowden's "Killing Pablo" and Gus Gugliota and Jeff Lean's "Kings of Cocaine".
Kind of blows This book drags all the way through. I was hoping to hear more of the 'horrors' of the times in prison and the nastiness of the creeps that George Jung had to deal with (including himself) in the drug business. This book falls flat.
