Product Reviews:

 Rating 5   GREAT BOOK!
This is a great book. One of the most important things I got from this book was that when faced with adversity, the bare bones of what is truly relevant in life will come to mind and help you through the tough times: family, faith and optimism.
I definitely recommend it.

Rating 2   Story lost in the mundane.
This book could be condensed into a short book. It's filled with boredom. If I'd had knowledge of the content before reading this book I could have read about 35 key pages and gotten the whole story which still would have been boring. The important points that could have made a great story are glossed over. It's also hard to tell what is fact since the survivors have different opinions about what happened.

Rating 5   Tom, Marc and Keith... Thanks for this amazing book!
As a Colombian citizen now living in the United States, I always lived with the fear, many colombians have to live with. Eventually, moving to the states... The fear faded. But my Colombian heart was always there, set on those, not so lucky that have more than one reason to fight the system, fight the terrorism and have faced the drama of the SECUESTRO.
I waited a while to buy the book, and eventually came to me during the summer of 2010, I was one of the Colombian citizens who follow this story.... but eventually the reality of their drama was forgotten in many places. Not in my mind. I was crying tears of happiness when they were liberated, I watched the videos, I stay up late at night watching the news and follow them as much as I could.
Finally this amazing testimony came to me. It took me 4 days to finish it and It has changed me from the inside out. I'm a biography fanatic but 'out of captivity' is way more than anything I have experienced before.
I cried, I laughed and I until today I'm trying to put together the pieces of the most barbaric acts of terrorism, and trying to understand their absolut ignorance.
Marc, keith and Tom... I'm deeply sorry about everything you went through, and I hope that your hearts still remember the good people in Colombia who prayed for you and all the colombian people who are still out there fighting for our freedom.
the most amazing book!, I'm ready to pass it along to change somebody's life just like you have changed mine.

Rating 4   Out of Captivity: Surviving 1,967 Days in the Colombian Jungle
A most intriguing story which if one did not know better would think it is fiction. The three American captives come across as heroic in the face of the FARC gangsters. Unfortunately, it was difficult to keep them apart as they spoke in the same voice--that of the author. It was interesting to be able to cross reference Betancourt's personality with the other books which have been written and to see human reactions under utterly horrible situations. Excellent comments on Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.
It was an exhausting read as one lived through the ups and more downs of those horrific years in captivity. What a relief to finally get out of that jungle.

Rating 5   Excellent Book!! I couldn't put it down. Excellent story
I loved the book. It's well written. The experiences and characters are so well described. I cried so many times reading the book, I cannot believe all the things these 3 guys went through. I hope Tom, Keith and Marc are doing well now and are able to keep going with their lives. I admire you profoundly and I won't forget about the people still kidnapped in Colombia or somewhere else, they will be in my prays.
